Patient centred care is the core of our focus at Chiropractic at Magill. We believe greater patient outcomes can often be achieved by including multiple disciplines especially when communicating as a team. When Eric Dishman was in college, doctors told him he had 2 to 3 years to live. That was a long time ago. Now, Dishman puts his experience and expertise as a medical tech specialist together to suggest a bold idea for reinventing health care – putting the patient at the centre of a care team of health professionals. Dishman advocates moving from isolated specialists which focuses on the only the part to well trained health teams of people working together to care for the whole person. He mentions 80% of medical errors can be attributed to communication problems between health care professionals. Here at CAM, we aim to leave egos at the door and strive daily to use current technology in order to share information around diagnosis, medical imagining and patient management.
