Osteogenic Exercise Classes

Osteogenic exercise classes are designed for clients aiming to improve their bone density, muscle strength, coordination and balance. These small-group classes are led by physiotherapists who tailor the program to your needs, whether you're managing osteopenia or osteoporosis, or simply want to protect your bone health as you age.

Bone doesn't respond to gentle movement the way muscle does — it needs targeted, progressive loading to get stronger. Based on clinical research, you'll be guided through the key lifts of deadlift, overhead pressing and squatting, which are proven to build bone density, muscle strength and coordination. Learning these movements safely and effectively will support your longevity and help you stay strong and independent as you age.

What happens in my initial appointment?

Before joining a class, you'll complete an introductory appointment with one of our physiotherapists. In this session, we will:

  1. Discuss your goals and current functional capacity.

  2. Take baseline strength and balance measures.

  3. Guide you through the process into exercise.

From here, we'll introduce you to the gym space and, when you're ready, transition you into our group classes.

Where and when are classes held?

Classes run in a small-group setting at the Conscious Movement Collective, in partnership with Adelaide Sports Allied Health.

  • Tuesdays 11am

  • Thursdays 11am

  • Saturdays 10.15–11.15am (alternate)

Each class is supervised by one of our physiotherapists, so you're coached through every session with proper form and appropriate progression — never just handed a program and left to it.

What does the program involve?

  • An 8-week program, split into two 4-week blocks.

  • Built around key foundational exercise movements.

  • 2 sessions per week recommended for best results.

  • All exercises demonstrated and guided by a physiotherapist, and scaled to your ability so you can progress at your own pace.
